We also provide you with your Bridal Dance of choice arranged for the Band. MC services are also available, removing the burden of a relative or friend presenting the evening. With Lighting and Sound systems, Swingland provide the complete package.

Comprehensive Band Combinations to suit your Special Occasion

Swingland can provide combinations of 5, 6, 8 or 10 piece. The most effective sound combination is a 6 piece giving you Instrumentation of Sax's, Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, Vocals and Rhythm section. Even a 5 piece combines Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Clarinet, Vocals and Rhythm section and is the most cost effective while still maintaining a great Swingland sound.

Song Requests From Past Weddings

Our current repertoire is constantly updated with requests from couples for songs to be performed for their Bridal Dance or something that is memorable to them both. Some of the requests have been very interesting to play and the different styles have added to the important part of the evening.

Following are some of our current Bridal Dance requests.

The Way You Look Tonight. A light relaxing swing number for those not overly commited to a big dance routine.

Sway. A bright latin, same version from Michael Buble, Excellent for that showy dance routine.

Almost Like Being In Love. An Uptempo swing with plenty of flair to show your dancing talents.

Unforgettable. The Classic by Nat King and Natalie Cole. A Slow Ballad with a great Band break.

Magic Moments. A smooth Perry Como classic, perfect for the not so difficult type dance routine.

Brazil. An uptempo latin where the couple used the whole floor.

I've got you under my skin. A seductive swing that gave the rest of the reception time to join the wedding couple.

Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps. Doris Day latin classic. Not too fast a nice song of only a couple of minutes max.

This Guys in Love. Slow swing for those that aren't into any special routine.

Night and Day. Medium swing nice and short, you can get the wedding party on the floor quick smart.

Love is in the Air. Another dance sequence with Brides maids and Groomsmen.

Who Is Swingland

Swingland has been playing the Melbourne scene for over 10 years at some of the most prestigious Wedding and Club venues. All our music is arranged exclusively for the band by Band Manager and drummer Errol Hatch. To get its unique sound for such a small combination you need to have a lot of experience in the swing style, "Errol Say's", and with over 40 years experience, you can be sure it comes through.

Our other rhythm section members are Perry Tremewen, Bass and Jo Abbott, Piano. Perry is a professional Musician teaching at one of Melbourne's premier schools and taking private students. Jo is a professional musician providing teaching and accompaniment to Melbourne's leading musicians. Jo is also one of our vocalists in Swingland.

Our lead vocalist and Trumpet/Trombone player is John Lucas. John can produce the best Sinatra/Buble styles to the rock sounds of the Commitments through his years of experience. Add his Trumpet and Trombone talents and you have a dynamic entertainer fronting Swingland.

On Alto/Tenor Sax and looking after any MC duties is Jeff Mead. Professional Musician and Deputy Headmaster, Jeff's warm voice and great Sax sounds compliment John and the rhythm section perfectly.

Our sixth member is our versatile Flute/Alto player, Martin West. Yes, another teacher in private schools and has years of experience in the swing styles. Martin melds the Brass section with great solos and his Flute talents gives the orchestra another sound, unique in such a small combination.
